Happy 21st Birthday, Siok!

ha it's finally your turn! too bad you had to spend your birthday attending some boring seminars.. hope you had a great dinner yesterday yah.. feels good to have half the restaurant singing the birthday song and cheering for you? heheh...

it's actually my first time at Jumbo and i realised my first time eating black pepper crab! so much for it being a Singapore delicacy and having spent 21 years of my life here.. but the crab was really good.. yummy..

the added (unplanned) surprise of celebrating your birthday with 2 Norwegians and 1 American was cool wasn't it? and they actually met at a pub here and just decided to have dinner and hang out together.. it's cool.. this is what should happen when travelling man.. i remembered this saying clearly from a discovery travel and living program.. "travelling is about the people you meet along the way." i totally agree with it.. experienced it myself while travelling around Taiwan...

now i'm digressing..

feasting on the black pepper crabs! yum yum.. there was also the fried fish with nonya sauce which was really delicious!

a photo with the 2 norwegians and the american.. the lady is an american by the name of maryann i think.. did not quite catch the other 2 names.. haha.. they were really nice ppl who offered to treat us to dessert upon knowing we were celebrating siok's bday.. and it was with their help that half the restaurant got involved in singing the birthday song and wishing siok happy birthday!

it's the season for gatherings...

as the holidays come to a close and school is starting.. it's time for gatherings again..
secondary friends that i haven't seen for god knows how long and rjco jie meis which i haven't met for at least half a year..

it's nice to meet up with friends again.. catching up and all.. and knowing that among my ex-classmates are aspiring doctors, lawyers, occupational therapists, musical therapists, engineers, accountants, businesswomen, economists, life scientists and the list goes on.. to think that we had the same interests when we were 15 yr olds which made us chose the same subject combi in sec school and hence becoming classmates.. but we are all now going on to pursue such varied interests..

昨天去當了臨時演員，一下是幕後花絮。

life as an extra...

i experienced life as an extra for almost 10 hrs yest.. 8pm to 6am.. and i think we're only going to be paid 25 bucks.. that works out to be 2.50 an hr?!

actually we only had to be there till 1 am but being poor students and not wanting to let the taxi uncles earn our 25 bucks which prob would be gone on midnight surcharges, we decided to hang around till the 1st buses and trains start running and we had extra screen time cos of that(or so we belief)

so glad i met jocelyn and the rest there cos initially i was there alone a feeling kinda lost and out of place till they arrived.. we spend 70% of the time gossiping and 30% of the time fliming.. haha

and we met this guy from tp who was there on internship.. he so hated his job that he swore off productions altogether.. and i've also concluded that i would not wan to intern at mediacorp doing productions.. radio maybe but def not these drama stuff cos it's full of sai kang and u had a warped sleeping pattern.. now that was wat i wanna find out from being an extra this time..

the kids there are amazing.. they dun cry or make noise at all! dun even emote much.. they also dun seem to need to sleep.. but the lure of the sweet is too much for him.. he's juz so cute.. dun even know if he actually knows wat is going on with all the make-up he has on..

the make-up artist having a busy busy time.. but they are really doing a good job.. those injuries looked so scary i tot i was at fright nite again!

i dunno why those ppl are stoning away while there are injured ppl having a hard time.. if it were real i would curse at them for not helping loh..

so do look out for my 30 seconds of fame on "Without Warning", to be screened sometime in October! but u'll prob hear more of our screams than actually be able to see us.. ha!

keyboard finally fixed!!

it's been some time since my last entry.. there seems to be so much more things to keep me occupied since i'm back in singapore.. hence the decreased in no. of entries.. no time to post lah..

tho i've only been back for 3 weeks plus, it seems like a long time as i've so many things to do everyday.. so unlike my life in taiwan where i struggle to keep myself occupied.. i'm a workaholic.. i can't stand myself being idle.. so i'm embracing life as i return to singapore.. meeting up and hanging out with frens, going back to work...

AND my keyboard is finally fixed ever since it failed on me on my last week in taiwan.. i've survived a month without my keyboard.. and best thing is it's fixed for FREE... warranty still in effect.. so bye bye to the 12.50 keyboard i bought in taiwan to tide me thru these days.. heh..

where should you go to find an ice cream man?


=> outside primary schools..

is this a typical scene outside primary schs these days? by my observation of TWO schs (one opp my house and one i happen to come across today..), it seems like the case..

these ice cream uncles are brilliant.. they know where to situate themselves for maximum business.. outside primary schs in hot singapore.. kids are the easiest to cox to part with their dollar for an ice cream to reward themselves after a hard day at sch.. i wonder if these uncles are contributing to the obesity problem in primary students.. hmm... but i still love their ice cream.. with bread.. cheap and good! :P

it's been a frenzy week

it's such a contrast.. life here and back in taiwan.. it was more of take-one-day-at-a-time in taiwan while i have so many things at hand to deal with now.. and i'm onli back for a week..it actually feels like i'm back for so much longer already..

it's been juz busy since i'm back in singapore.. so many events that i really tot that the planner was a neccesity..

things that happened:-
unpacking my lugagge and the 2 boxes of stuff that arrived this week..
going for cs foc.. it muz haf been the most dramatic one ever.. and i was once again roped in as a ghost in fright nite..
meeting up with the 36 ppl at settler's cafe

things coming up:
production to be staged in august.. publicity stuff to be done
campus concert in ntu... 3 in fact and all in august.. hong junyang on the 7th, li sheng jie on the 16th and pan wei bo on the 18th!!! must come ok!!

i'm still sorting out my photos for my 12 days round taiwan.. actually there are more pictures than that to upload.. i'm getting irritated using sony imagestation..

omg i'm darker than xinpei!!

i've surpassed my roomie who's been known for being dark and am now officially darker than her..

this is scary...

and i'm set to get darker with cs foc underway..

脱皮 peeeeling

peeling at the weirdest places at the weirdest times...
more than a week after my sun exposure, i'm peeling at the back of my thighs..
now that is somewhere i've nv expected myself to peel...

怎么会现在才开始脱皮呢？
好迟钝的皮肤，而且怎么是大腿背部在脱皮？？
原来我的皮在等我闲下来时才脱。

feeling the world cup fever

the 1st things i feel deeply after returning to Sg is the world cup fever..
no body gives much of a damn about the world cup in taiwan..
it's a totally diff story here.. the first things my bro talked abt was the world cup..
the papers haf 2 page spreads abt the world cup..
companies and schs are starting late due to the finals..
my frens are making arrangements to meet up n watch the finals together..
there are gigantic screens to screen the world cup live in the heartlands..

i am actually planning to watch the finals with my bro just for the fun of it

only feeling the fever when it's coming to an end

home sweet home...

now i know how it feels like to haf ur whole family waiting for you at the arrival hall after 5 months of not seeing them.. it's a indescribable kind of 感动。

my last few days in taiwan are hectic...
a trip to 九份、金山and 基隆 resulted in my lack of time to pack and hence i did not sleep a wink last night and rushed off to the airport right after i'm done wif my card making..

special thanx to 思惟 and 婉瑜 for sending us off at the airport.. we wouldn't have been able to make our way from terminal 2 to teminal 1 otherwise too wif the amt of luggage we had..
also thanx iris for waking up at 6plus am to send us off from nccu.. all the best in getting home smoothly and safely next week..

i tot i wouldn't cry when we say bye but tears were still rolling about in my eyes when the time came.. but when i read wanyu's card everything let loose..

it's amazing how much i learn abt myself thru them.. they are telling me thing abt myself that i nv notice before.. i guess i'm juz not as observant as they are? still it was really great knowing them and i'm lookin forward to seeing them in september!

not prepared to return home

it's those pre-departure jitters...
there seem to be so many things to do, so many things i wanna do
after the round island taiwan trip, it's been a hectic 3 days of last min shopping and a 2 day trip to jiufen n jilong..

it's at these times that i wish every min is longer.. wish to enjoy every min left..

i knoe i'll miss the ppl here..
still i'm missing everyone back home..

it's a complicated feeling..

Around Taiwan in 12 days

Back in Taipei but keyboard is spoilt… so much to say but am handicapped..

12 days of round-island Taiwan has left me:-

3 shades darker

a huge burnt scar on my right calf

a couple of blue-blacks everywhere

a flu that will hopefully get better soon

most importantly… totally broke

dun think I’m making much sense now cos I’m still bobbing up n down in my head after 10+ hours of sea n road trip n getting back to Taipei at 1 plus am yesterday..

the flu is getting into me… will update soon..
